UIDAI lets cardholders with Aadhaar cardsto change their address without the need for documentation. Aadhaar cardholders have the right to alter their address even if they have not provided documents proving their identity.

New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India has temporarily halted a vital facility that lets you alter the address of your Aadhaar card's address with no certificate of address.

UIDAI permits people with Aadhaar cards to change their address without requiring any documentation. Aadhaar card holders can alter their address only if they accept the authenticity to the identity verifier. An address verifier could be a close friend, relative, landlord or family member that allows the Aadhaar card user to use their address as proof.

UIDAI has now halted this feature. UIDAI responded to an Aadhaar Card Holder via tweets that the option to update address on the Aadhaar Card through the Address Validation Letter has been removed. UIDAI has asked its Aadhaar issuer to notify users of the possibility to update their address using a legitimate PoA document.

Dear Residents: The Address Validation Letter service has been removed until the end of time. Kindly request your address update using another valid PoA document from the list https://t.co/BeqUA0pkqL
